If you are looking for a way to watch the new psychological horror movie Obsession at home, the streaming options can be confusing. The viral micro-budget film has finished its run in theaters and is now preparing to move to major streaming platforms. If you want to know when it lands on Netflix, where you can stream it right now, and what the plot is about, here are the direct answers.
What Is the Premise of Obsession About?
The storyline follows a shy, lonely music store worker named Bear who has a long-time secret crush on his coworker, Nikki. While searching for a gift, he buys a mysterious novelty toy called the “One Wish Willow” that promises to grant a single wish. Bear wishes for Nikki to fall completely in love with him, but her supernatural affection quickly devolves into a terrifying, violent, and blood-soaked fixation.
Is the Movie Obsession Streaming on Netflix Right Now?
No, the horror movie is not available on Netflix right now. Because the film was distributed by Universal’s Focus Features, it is bound to a strict 18-month streaming rollout schedule in the United States. The psychological thriller completed its premium video-on-demand rental run and its initial four-month exclusive launch window on the Peacock platform.
What Is the Official Netflix Release Date?
The dark supernatural horror film will officially release on Netflix US on Tuesday, November 17, 2026. Once it hits the library, subscribers can stream the 108-minute movie for exactly ten months before it rotates back out of the catalog. Digital buyers who don’t want to wait for the winter streaming date can buy physical 4K UHD or Blu-ray copies right now.
Who Is in the Main Cast Lineup?
The minimalist slasher leans heavily on intense, physical breakout performances from a young ensemble cast. Voice actor Michael Johnston stars as the anxious protagonist Bear, playing opposite Superman & Lois star Inde Navarrette, who delivers a terrifying performance as the manipulated Nikki. The supporting horror lineup features Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and veteran comedian Andy Richter.
Is There a Post-Credit Scene or Sequel Confirmed?
The film features a definitive, brutal conclusion that leaves very little room for a traditional follow-up storyline. However, the historic financial success of the project has fast-tracked director Curry Barker into the Hollywood elite. He has already wrapped filming on his next secretive feature film and is actively working on a highly anticipated slasher reboot for Blumhouse.
